Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Sautech LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the AutoTracker 5.0 mobile application ("the App").
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information directly from you when you use the App:
- Account information — email address, name, optional nickname, optional phone number, optional zip code, optional profile photo. Used to create and maintain your account, sign you in, and personalize the app.
- Vehicle information — vehicle make, model, year, VIN (optional), nickname, photos you upload, mileage, and maintenance task records you create. Stored so the app can display your virtual garage and surface service reminders.
- Service entries and receipts — service date, mileage, cost, and optional receipt images or PDFs you choose to upload.
- Device identifier — when you opt in to push notifications, we store an Expo push token tied to your account so we can deliver maintenance reminders. This is not linked to advertising identifiers.
- Approximate device location — when you use the "Shops Nearby" feature, we request your device's location with your permission and use it to query nearby auto shops. Location is used only to fulfill the request; we do not retain raw coordinates after the query completes.
2. How we use information
- To provide the core App functionality: account sign-in, virtual garage, maintenance reminders, service history, and shop discovery.
- To send you transactional emails (sign-up verification codes, password reset codes) and, if you opt in, push notifications for upcoming maintenance.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not run any third-party analytics SDK inside the App.
3. Service providers
We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate the App. Each is bound by its own privacy policy and processes only the data necessary to deliver its function:
- Convex — backend database and serverless functions hosting (account data, vehicles, tasks, service entries, push tokens).
- Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-up verification, password-reset codes).
- Google Places API — fulfilling your "Shops Nearby" lookups. Your approximate location is sent to Google for the duration of the request only.
- Apple Push Notification Service — delivering opt-in push notifications.
- Expo — push notification delivery (forwarding APNs payloads).
4. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time directly from the App's Account Settings screen. Account deletion immediately and permanently removes:
- Your profile, vehicles, maintenance tasks, service entries, receipts, and uploaded photos.
- Your push notification tokens and notification history.
- Your authentication credentials and active sessions.
If you cannot access the App, you can also request deletion via the deletion-request form linked from our Support page.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise these rights directly in the App's Account Settings, or by contacting us via the Support page.
6. Children's privacy
AutoTracker 5.0 is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Security
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are stored on your device using the iOS Keychain. Data at rest is stored on Convex infrastructure with encryption-at-rest applied by the provider.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
